Tell callers when their call can not be completed.
Telephone Carriers need to inform callers when their call can not be completed. These messages are referred to as Central Office Intercept announcements and they inform callers when the call can not go through due to network failures, wrong numbers or incorrect dialing.
Typical intercept announcements include:
- The number you have dialed is no longer in service
- Your call can not be completed as dialed, please try again
- This service is not available from your calling area
- The number dialed is no longer in service
- The number dialed is long distance, please try again
- All circuits are busy at this time, please try again later
- No lines are available, please try again later
