Frequently Asked Questions

Can the SBX2 run it's own application and a Siemens CTI application at the same time?
Yes, the SBX2 ports will be re-assigned by the OSCC server. However, if additional ports are still left un-utilized, then they can be made to work with a standalone SBX2 configuration file.

Can you remove a key code feature like additional memory, PTT handset or MOH, can they be removed?
No, feature codes are permanently in place even after a firmware update or factory reset.

I have a lot of messages in my SBX2 that I want to delete on a routine bases. However, I don’t want to delete any of my system messages. How do I accomplish this?
The SBX2 comes with many options to manage your audio. You can define a list of messages consisting of any or the entire systems 999 message limit and delete the messages contained in the list using a simple phone call and couple easy key presses.

First dial the phone number going to the SBX2 remote port. Once your hear the prompt, enter “5”,“1” then the list number. You will hear a friendly voice tell you all the messages are deleted. I know the SBX2 comes with a built in dial by name capability, but can it transfer to staff members who are remote? Can the SBX2 dial extensions beyond 7 digits?
The DBN node has a limitation of only 7 DTMF digits in the phone number field for any given name.

However, the SBX2 is still capable of dialing 15 digit numbers if required by adjusting the dial field in the Xfer node from "AUTO" to "xxxAUTO", where xxx is prefix that will be dialed ahead of the phone number entries for each name.

I’m trying to understand how much recording time is available on my SBX2. When I press the EXIT button three times to see the total and available memory, I see two numbers with brackets around the second number. What do the brackets mean and how much memory do I have left to record messages?
The brackets indicate that part of the system memory has been allocated to a CTI configuration. A CTI configuration dictates how the device will operate in conjunction with a Unify OSCC or Call Director Server. If the memory in the brackets matches that of the total memory, then no more memory is available to record messages. For more information contact the Interalia Support Group at 1-800-661-9406.

I have eight lines connected to the SBX2, how many callers can be connected to the system at once and how many lines are required to transfer those callers to other destinations?
As many as eight callers can be connected to the SBX2 all at the same time. The SBX2 utilizes the phone systems own ability to place callers on hold while the SBX2 passes the destination number to the PBX, which in turn connects the caller and releases the port on the SBX2 so that it’s ready for the next caller.

XMUCOM+ Configuration Training

Interalia has developed these quick training tutorials to aid our customers in realizing the maximum benefit of their SBX2 and XMU+ messaging systems. These tutorials refer to the SBX2 but are also applicable to the XMU+. You will need two files for each tutorial: a PDF and a zipped XMP file. The PDF contains information about the contents of the tutorial. The XMP file contains a sample SBX2/XMU+ configuration that corresponds to the PDF document. To run the configuration file, you must first unzip the XMP file and use XMUCOM+ to upload the unzipped files to the SBX2 or the XMU+.
